Mr Hayes

Mr Hayes is an 82year old man who was robbed. Some teenaged girls stole two of his cars and many other things from his house. It went for a very long time. Finally the police caught the tenagers and they are now in court. We thought it was a very wrong thing to do. So we dediced to fundraise for him. We put together a bake sale and we raised $200 for him and our whole class made cards to brighten up his house.

Althletics Day

LastWednesday the 21st  November our whole school got together and did a Althletics day. That day was so much fun. We did high and long jump, discus and shot put. We also did 100,200,400,800,1,500 meter runs. At the end of the day we all got together again and each house ran a relay year 7 and year 8 girls and boys.  We also had the finalists from each year group boys and girls who got into the finals competed against the other finalists. Our althletics day was so much Fun!

Our New Playground

At Mokoia Intermediate we have just got a brand new playground, and it's really big. We have a massive  spider net right in the middle with mushrom steps leading up to it. On one side we have got monkey bars, witchs hats, a wobbly bridge and a metal net. On the other side there is stepping bridge, monkey bars, climbing wall and absailing wall. We LOVE the new playground!

War Senses Poem

Leaving Home
My family and loved ones behind me as I am leaving.
The delicious smell of the food and baking we were eating.
Screaming and crying as soldiers march off to war.
I have a sick feeling because I don’t know if I will return home.
  Horrible, rock hard
 rationed biscuits.
I think war will be a terrible
         place to be.

Creepy Creature

This is the most unusual and interesting creature ever!  I would like you to you to meet Georgie.  He is a hairy bush-hog.  You may never see one in your entire life, read on to find out more.
Appearance
Most of the hairy bush-hogs have spikes, but Georgie has fur.  A hairy bush-hog is 120mm tall when they are born and he will grow to about 190mm when he is an adult.  This unusual animal’s tongue can change colour depending on his mood, like purple when he is bored.  Most hairy bush-hogs have a little square body because they like to eat electrical objects like iPods.  Hairy bush-hogs have an orange glow in their dark eyes.  Georgie can see over one kilometre away from were he is standing because he has very good eye sight.  They have gigantic ears which makes their hearing amazing.  The funniest thing about this animal is their fingers.  His fingers are so skinny that you would think they might snap off when they are climbing trees.
Diet
Georgie’s favourite food is electrical objects.  He mostly likes iPods, phones and cameras.  Hairy bush-hogs get all their food off wire and tubtum trees.  All hairy bush-hogs like pink, purple and orange jelly beans, berries and all the skittles of the rainbow.
Predators
Bush-hogs have many predators.  Georgie’s worst predator is the long fingered lemur.  Their other hated predators are crocodiles, beavers and long neck turtles.
Behaviour
Bush-hogs start to act a little bit strange when a predator is approaching.  When a predator is near, Georgie screams at the top of his voice and jumps on the predator and acts really crazy.  All a bush-hog does is eat, drink, play and sleep.
Life Cycle
The life cycle of a bush-hog is weird.  First the bush-hog will make a very small nest that is about 11cm long.  The nest is in a tree.  Second, the hairy bush-hog will lay some hexagon shaped eggs.  They will hatch after four days.
I hope you have learnt more about Georgie and his family, the hairy bush-hogs and their unusual           personalities and appearance.

What am I?

I am a little creature with bright, shiny stripes of orange and white on my body.
I can be found in tropical waters and
pet stores.
I feed on seaweed and left over dead fish.
I grow to about three to five inches long.
I can live for four years in captivity.
I belong to a family of fish called            Damselfish.
I don't have a red nose!

What am I?

My Camp Senses Poem

Thornton Beach Camp

Huge, rough waves crashing loudly on the beautiful sandy beach.

Yuck, salty water from the sea in front of me goes up my nose.

Freezing, cold wind whistling through my tent at night.
Hot, golden sand wriggling between my toes.

Sizzling, hot milo on my
burning tongue.

I think the beach is a
wonderful place.

Talented, Kind, Quiet
Wishes to go to the Olympics as a gymnast
Dreams of flying and discovering new animals
Wants to become rich and famous
Who wonders how humans began
Who fears sharks and snakes

Who believes in Santa
Who loves my family, teddy bears and
ice-cream
Who plans to travel around the World
I hope my wishes and dreams come true!
